Tools for AI Design

This past weekend on CES 2017 we saw an explosion of AI integration devices from Fridges to toasters or even entire homes with hidden speakers. Google home and Alexa are on the top of the competition at this point with their new AI assistants speakers and we can see these integrations getting bigger and bigger every day. As a User Experience designer, I can't deny the excitement to create new experiences using AI and I decided to make a list of resources to start with VUI.

Google Assistant

Google assistant API gives you enough information to start with your own little project. Here you can get conversation basics, How to craft a conversation and more.  If you own a google home is a lot of fun

https://developers.google.com/actions/design/

Alexa skills kit and voice design

Amazon Alexa has a well-detailed section about how to start designing for Alexa the do and don't and the best voice practices for design.

https://developer.amazon.com/public/solutions/alexa/alexa-skills-kit/docs/alexa-skills-kit-voice-design-best-practices

Siri kit

Siri was one the first AI we all saw from apple almost 5 years ago. I think Siri continues learning and growing in the community and now with open API developers and designers can create better experiences

API.AI

This is a great platform to start developing and designing new AI conversations. Is very simple and you can create new conversations in minutes and start playing.

The Ultimate Guide for Hiring UX Designers

The fledgling world of user experience can be a mystery for the uninitiated: design processes vary from team to team, job titles are often inconsistent, and UX artifacts don’t always demonstrate a talent’s expertise. In fact, leaders in the field don’t necessarily agree what the roles include or what title they should be given.

All things that can make hiring a UX expert a nightmare.

That’s why we created this handy dandy UX Hiring Guide, perfect for helping you figure out what kind of UX pro you need to add to your team and how to evaluate candidates once you’ve got them in your office lobby.

Robinhood app

The robin hood app is a stock market service that lets you buy and sell shares for free.  The service is great and the user experience is awesome.  With just a touch of a button I can trade or buy shares in seconds.  I think the designers on robin hood did a neat job on this application is very easy to understand and easy to follow.  I really like the thought of using the background as aware of the market status, For example if the app is white the user know’s the market is open and if is black the market is close. Iv’e been studying robin hood for a while and I can tell you everyday I use it, I feel more in love with the application.
